Amberley is one of the most picturesque villages in West Sussex, nestled beside the Wey-South Path and less than half a mile from the South Downs Way.
In the heart of the village, Amberley Village Stores & Post Office proudly serves the local community, along with the many walkers, cyclists, and visitors exploring this beautiful area. Pop in and you’ll find much more than a traditional village shop.
A village shop has stood in Amberley for many years, moving to its current home in The Barn in 1998. Since taking ownership in 2001, Colin Woods has carefully preserved the welcoming atmosphere and character of a traditional village store while introducing a range of quality local and speciality products.
In 2024, the business entered a new chapter when Lee Stace joined Colin in partnership, bringing fresh ideas while continuing the shop’s strong community values and commitment to local produce and friendly service.
Today, Amberley Village Stores is known for its carefully chosen range of local goods, everyday essentials, and award-winning COOK meals — making it the perfect stop whether you’re stocking up for the week, picking up dinner, or visiting the village for the day.
Specialities include our own-label pickles, jams, marmalades, biscuits, and sweets — perfect to enjoy at home or give as gifts.
Supporting local suppliers remains at the heart of what we do. Many of our products, including milk, cream, wine, fruit, and vegetables, are sourced from nearby villages, helping support the local economy while reducing food miles.
