Relax at this unique, tranquil getaway set in a stunning location in the South Downs National Park.
A snug haven with big sky views, WildHearts is a light and airy self-contained annexe of a white-washed country cottage, tucked away in the quiet hamlet of Rackham.
It offers the comfort of a king-size bed, bathroom and kitchenette area. French doors lead out to the patio and a delightful garden, surrounded by an almost panoramic view of the Downs. It feels a million miles away from a busy, stressful world.
Peaceful silence washes over you, with only birdsong and at dusk the call of a nearby resi-dent barn owl.
Dine on the patio, with sweeping rural views. Sip a glass of wine as you watch the wildlife and soak up the sunset. Being part of the Dark Sky Park means awesome stargazing in an inky black sky.
Guests are welcomed with a breakfast hamper of fresh bread, marmalade, butter, milk, eggs, fruit, coffee and tea.
The small kitchenette area has a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and egg boiler, so you can provide meals and a packed lunch for your day.
A table by the French doors provides a cosy space to enjoy your morning coffee or your supper. A comfy king-size bed and a sofa await you at the end of a day’s country pursuits.
Walkers, cyclists and other outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the drying rack in the out-building, and there’s secure storage space for cycles and paddle boards. The driveway has plenty of parking space.
A footpath to the South Downs Way is a 10-minute walk. We're just over a mile from Amber-ley village and Wildbrooks, and RSPB Pulborough Brooks nature reserve, and 2 miles from Amberley Station.
Nearby pubs include the fabulous community-run Sportsman (a 20 minute walk away) with the best views over the wildbrooks, the gastro pub Black Horse, Bridge Inn, and George & Dragon, and there's also the Riverside café with boat hire.
We are 2.5 miles from Amberley Station and the pretty village of Amberley. Known as ‘the pearl of Sussex,’ this remote unspoilt village is one of the prettiest in Sussex, with its medie-val castle, chocolate box thatched roof cottages, village shop, and tea room. Amberley Wild-brooks is home to wintering wildfowl, such as Wigeon and Teal.
Nearby is Arundel Castle, Parham House and gardens, and Bignor Roman Villa. We are 20 minutes' drive from the Knepp Castle Estate, now famous for its amazing rewilding (see the film 'Wilding').
Wonderful beaches are a short drive, including Brighton and Worthing, and the white sand dune beach of West Wittering.
Line up an exciting day at Goodwood, home to motor sport and horse racing.
RSPB Pulborough Brooks nature reserve has beautiful views across to the South Downs and is set in one of the richest areas for nature in the country.
London is just a 90-minute train ride away, with Amberley’s direct line to Victoria.
Local attractions include many hiking trails on the South Downs, Riverside Boat Hire on the Arun river, and The Chalk Pit museum.
